Yume Twins Subscription Box Review- Sanrio All Stars July Box edition

Hello everyone! Today I bring you another subscription box review. This box comes from the company of Tokyo Treat. If you remember, a long while ago I reviewed their regular box of japanese snacks. I heard they were opening a new subscription box, this one being of cute japanese items based on Japan's kawaii (cute) culture. They called this box, Yume Twins.
Now unlike Tokyo Treat, which has three different tiers of boxes (small, regular and premium) Yume Twins only has one box. This box comes with 7-8 items from these categories: knick-knacks, plushies, jewelry & accessories, art prints, toys & figures and stationary.  I missed out on their first box in June which was sold out in days so I had to wait until they opened up slots for their July box. As soon as they did and announced what the theme was for July's box, I subscribed.
My box was shipped out June 19th and I received it July 8th, about three weeks to get here without a tracking number. Since it's not sent via registered mail, the time it took (from Japan to the United States) is fairly reasonable and it still came in before their estimated date of July 20-28th.

The items come in a cute purple box that is packed very nicely. When you open it the first thing you will find is the booklet that lists all of the items for that month's subscription. This month's theme is: Sanrio All Stars.
Look at those cute drawings

everything was placed nicely in this box
here are all the items for this month's box

The first items were these adorable Sanrio socks. The tag says they come in a size 22-24 cm which is a size 6-8 in US, 34-38 in EURO and 3-5.5 in UK according to the chart I used here. Before I tried them on I was not too sure if they would fit me since I am a women's 8 US, but the material of the sock is fairly stretchable and fit well on my feet. The only complaint of mine would be where the seam ends up being on my foot. It is right against the tip of my toes instead of over them around the nail bed. I have a feeling that this will cause me some discomfort until I get used to them or stretch them out from normal wear. The seam position might be of the sizing which is reasonable since Japanese clothing tends to be on the smaller area of what North Americans might be used to. I would still wear them despite the seam placements so these were much of a hit.

Next up is this adorable plushie! On the guide they give you it says you can either receive a Hello Kitty or My Melody with a unique name on each one. I ended up getting a My Melody one which I love because she's a rabbit and if you haven't noticed by my handle name I love rabbits.

her name is Miho
She has a ball chain to attach to your keys, bags, backpacks, etc which I currently have on my purse so I can carry her around wherever I go. Her fur is very soft and the heart feels as if it has been attached well. She's definitely a hit!

Next up is the Harajuku Princess Tiara.

Now when I saw this I honestly thought to myself this looks very cheap. According to the guide pictures and the side of the box, there are at least four different variations of this though they all look like they are made from the same material. I took it out of the box and wiggled it around for a bit. It's made of cheap plastic that doesn't even have those cheap rhinestones in the little indentations all around the tiny tiara. Though wiggling it around it didn't feel as if it would break, it still really felt like one of those tiaras you find in the dollar stores. Its cute but I expected a bit more. This was a miss with me.

The Hello Kitty or My Melody Pouch was next in the guide. Just like the socks, there are different variations of these pouches as well. And just like the socks and plushie, I got a My Melody version. The guide says they are made of high quality material which I completely agree from taking it out of the plastic pouch it came in and used it for a bit.

I also love it because its in the color I love the most which is red. Another My Melody that is a hit!

So far out of the four things I have talked about, only one is a miss. Four more to go, let's see if we can continue the hits.

It looks like we have one more Harajuku item. This one is called the Harajuku Kawaii Bracelet.

This bracelet is so small, that was my first thought and I voiced it when I tried it on. It would probably fit a person with a smaller wrist or a younger person, say a child but not me. It honestly felt as if it were to snap if I wore it long enough and it felt it would start cutting my circulation as well. The color combination is cute as well as the beads but because I would never wear it because it doesn't fit, it's a miss.

By this point I was beginning to think that all my box was geared towards My Melody since I got socks, plushie, and pouch from her. I don't mind it but since the theme is Sanrio All Stars I hoped there would be more than one sanrio character in the box. Thankfully there was and what better All Star than Hello Kitty herself.

She came in two items the first being the Hello Kitty Memo Pad.

This memo pad is different from any memo pad I've ever seen. First of all its is only a pad made out of what I believe is a silicone type rubber.
see through
By what I can tell from the picture, you can write on it on pen and then use the red heart to erase what you've written. I tried it out and it takes a few tries but the heart does erase the pen marks after a few strokes. I'm not sure if I will ever use this but I don't see it as a miss so I'll make this as neutral.

The second Hello Kitty item is a Randoseru Charm. If you don't know what a randoseru is, its basically a backpack used in japan by elementary students.

It has cute straps on the back like an actual backpack and a ball chain to attach it to your own backpack or wherever you would like to carry it. I think this could be used for makeup like lipstick or chapstick since it's around that size. The plastic is thin and I think it would get crushed easily if say you put your bag or something heavy over it.  Here is a couple of more picture of how big it is.
it had a piece of styrofoam to keep it from being crushed during shipping

Another thing I might not use though it is very cute. Maybe I'll find some use for it but it's not likely, this is a miss.

The very last and probably the cutest out of everything in this subscription box was this little cutie pie right here.
it's a puppers!
This cute little puppy plushie right here is called a shinada poodle. Now these are extremely popular and definitely scream kawaii when you see and feel them. There are three color variations you can get: black, white and pink. I am so glad I was given the pink one because it went with all of my other items and I personally think that the pink one was the cutest of the three colors. This little pup is so soft and is a perfect companion for either your other plushies you might have or just for yourself to cuddle when no one is watching. I've seen the prices for these cute poodles and some cost just as much as the price for this box (I'll discuss in a bit about the price in my overall). Definitely a big hit with me this eight and last item in the Yume Twin subscription box!

So overall I had five hits, two misses and one neutral. I think this box was pretty nice to get even if there were some misses. Would I get this box again? The box itself is around 30 USD with shipping (non trackable), so I think for the price maybe, maybe not. It's fun to get different items and knowing that you can skip the month if you don't like the upcoming month's theme is a plus. Cancellation is simple and easy and if it is your first time getting the box, they always have some sort of discount codes that you can use for your first month. So what do you all think? Do you see yourself buying this or passing it over for another subscription box? Let me know what you think down in the comments!

I would like to also say that past, present and future reviews I do are not paid by the companies in which I get the products I review. I want to clear that up in case some of you may think that they are. All of my opinions are 100% mine and everything I review I have bought and/or won myself. I will never say this product is good just because I may have gotten it for free or I had be sponsored for it. My reviews will and always will be what I truly believe and not paid for.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello everyone, time for another review! This time I'll be talking about an agency service I used to be able to shop on Japanese websites as well as what I bought.

Samurai Buyer is a proxy agency that helps buyers that are not in Japan, buy from Japanese websites like Amazon.co.jp or Rakuten.co.jp. If you've ever seen something you've wanted to buy on google but then you find out it's on a Japanese website like those I stated above, chances are they will not be available to you if you live outside Japan. This is where Samurai Buyer comes in! I found out about this service a while back ago by youtuber Sharla when she made a video about how to buy from Japanese websites which I will link here
If you watch the video, she pretty much explains just how it works but in case you don't want to watch it, this is a breakdown of how it works:

Samurai Buyer has three services they offer 1) Proxy Service 2) Auction Service and 3) Transfer Service.

Proxy Service is what you use when you want to buy from either Amazon.co.jp or Rakuten.co.jp and do not ship internationally. Samurai Buyer will get it for you then send it to you for a fee. If what you want to buy is less than 5,000 yen then the service fee will be of 500. If the item(s) is more than 5,000 yen then the service fee would be 9% of the item price. Some shops have domestic free shipping which means that you don't have to pay twice for shipping just the international fee. The international shipping fee will depend on how heavy your item is so the lighter you buy the less you have to pay. They only ship EMS which is great since that shipping service is the fastest and most secure.

The second service they have is their Auction Service. The auction service can be used when you want to bid on Yahoo Auction. Again since most shops do not ship internationally Samurai Buyer can bid on your behalf. I have not used their auction service so I'm not well versed on how it goes down but if you would like to use that service here is a link that can help you navigate through it.

The last service is their Transfer Service. You can use this service if you want to buy from another Japanese website that is not Amazon or Rakuten or cannot be bid on in Yahoo Auction. Again, I have not used this service yet so I cannot say for certain how it works but this link will help navigate and explain even more.

When I first heard about this website I went through their items and was surprised to see how much they had that I never thought I could buy. I wanted to buy something that I knew I wanted but could never buy. I decided on a new phone case for my iPhone 6s since I had always wanted a cute case but could never get because they never had for the phone I had at the time.

So I went on their website and looked around for what I could like and ended up with one of my favorite anime, Hetalia.

Nekotalia iPhone 6/6s case

I had seen this case a while back on AmiAmi but it had been sold out there as well as other places that did ship to me. I was so happy to find that I could get it via samurai buyer so I immediately ordered proxy shopping service. I hadn't noticed though that it said it would be available from 1-3 months. I paid for the case as well as the service fee and waited for when samurai buyer were to contact me for the next step. After a few weeks I grew concerned when I did not receive any new emails from them so I emailed them to inquire about my order. It took them about a day to get back to me because I had emailed them in a weekend. They said they were waiting on the shop to send them the case so they could inspect it and bill me for the international shipping. Knowing that relaxed me that I would be getting my case soon but I just needed to wait some more.

After a week I was sent an email to pay for the international shipping and once I paid that about a day or so passed I got one more email that contained my tracking number for it. It took four days to get to me which was great since I had waited over a month for it. It came in a good condition and not even the packaging was damage like it sometimes happens when you get something shipped.

Here are a few pictures of the case and how it looks like from the inside with my phone in it.

Overall I'm really happy with Samurai Buyer and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to buy from Japanese websites. Just remember to read everything on the page from where you are buying to make sure you are going to get it quickly and not wait for a month like what happened with me. The service was not as expensive as I thought it would be which was great and I hope that more people use this wonderful service. Until next time!

Yes Style Gemstone Rabbit Ring

It's been a while but I'm back and today I will be reviewing a super cute Gemstone Rabbit Ring from
yesstyle.com

I don't know how many of you have heard of Yes Style but it is an Hong Kong based online store that carries various items from all over Asia that are high quality as well as beautiful and for the most part very inexpensive.

I've bought from them before and so far I have never been disappointed with any of their products but I wondered if this would have been the first disappointment from them after waiting for what seemed forever to get this ring.

stock photo from their site

A few weeks ago Yes Style had begun Daily Free Gifts, which are gifts customers can get for free if they are the first 100 to use the code they post of the item up on their Instagram. The only thing that potential customers have to pay for is the shipping fee. I decided to give it a shot and when I saw this ring I knew I just had to get it!

I ordered the ring around August 19 and got an email that it had been shipped on the 20th. Now usually when I buy from Yes Style, it takes about a week for me to receive my package and I usually have to be home to receive it because I have to sign off on it since it's an international parcel. Neither was the case with this package.

Here is what it arrived in

It was pretty much a Fed-Ex parcel bag rolled and taped shut with the ring inside without any bubble wrap around it.
It took from August 20th to September 8th to receive it. Around 13 day just counting Monday-Friday. The ring thankfully came in perfect condition even if it only came in the small plastic bag seen below.

The ring looked almost like the photos on their website.

slight differences but aren't really that noticable

I put the ring on my left ring finger and it fit perfectly which was awesome because usually rings do not come in my size (8 US). It is adjustable to make smaller or larger but thankfully I did not have to move it. Although it fits my ring finger I think I will keep it on my index because I just really like how it looks there.

After two weeks of waiting, I'm really pleased with the ring but I'll see if the ring tarnishes after constant wear and exposure to the elements. I'll keep you all informed on that in the months to come!

Himi Fashion Review

Himi Fashion Review!

Hello everyone! Today I will be reviewing two items I got from Himi Fashion! Both items I will be reviewing can be found on their website if you want to buy them for yourself!

Above is the cute little business card that came in with two items I bought. Isn't it adorable?

Before I begin to review the items, I would like to take some time to talk about their customer service. At the very beginning of this, I was having a rather difficult time trying to register for an account with them. After countless unsuccessful tries, I emailed himi fashion to see if they could help me out. It took about a day or so to get a response since those who run the website and store are located in China; therefore we were on different time zones. After a few e-mail exchanges I was able to make an account with them. But then another problem arose. I could not enter my shipping information no matter how many times I tried. I was trying to get their promotional item and time was running out for me to get it at their discount price. I emailed them once again, this time getting a quicker response than before. Despite my attempts of adding my shipping address, it looked like it would not take on both my phone and computer.
Thankfully, next day I was able to input my information and was one of the few that got the promotional item of that week. I had not realized until I had finalized the order than in my address was wrong! Thankfully they understood my predicament and assured me that they would be sending me the items to the address on my PayPal and not the wrong one I had put (I have since corrected it). Their customer service was so helpful and understanding and very quick to answer any questions I had, on top of trying to help me out of the initial problems I encountered through their site!
So for their customer service, I give them an 8/10 since I did have problems with their website.

Alright on to the two items I bought! I bought two items, one that was at regular price and the other at their promotional price.

japanese uniform sakura bow tie

blue lolita hair bow

The came in bubble lined envelope and each item was in their own clear plastic bag that gave them an extra protection in case my items go wet.
sakura bow tie
lolita hair bow- Pegasus print
The sakura bow tie I got is in the light pink color but they have a total of eight colors to choose from from pink to blue to red. The bow tie is really cute and comes already tied so you don't have to do it yourself. It has a small clasp in the back and an adjustable strap to adjust accordingly to your size.

It's actually pretty big even to me so I adjusted as small as it could go and even then it was loose so anyone who has a thick neck can wear this easily. The bow tie looks really cute and the best when worn with a collared shirt like the one I'm wearing.
lighting was different where I took this picture
I didn't really have anything pink to match but even when wearing with this sweater vest blouse it upped the blouse's cute factor. I think I could wear it to work and it wouldn't look too girly. I got this one at regular price but since shipping was free, it was really a good deal.

The lolita hair bow was part of their promotional deal I set my heart to getting. I've been really into the lolita fashion for a while now and I've been trying to slowly collect accessories to complete outfits. The hair bow actually can be paired up with their Lolita SK Pegasus skirt they sell on their website you can see it for yourself here.

This bow is seriously adorable! It's not overly frilly with lace and it's not overly huge either as you can see in the picture below.

It sits just perfect on the hairband and with a bit of ironing it could really keep standing for a long time. I really like the print of it as well as the color. It looked exactly like the picture on the website so that made me very happy.

Shipping for both items was free and it took about one week to get both items which was pretty fast since they came from overseas.

Overall everything from the very beginning was great and I would definitely buy from them again and encourage anyone who wants to buy from them to do so. If you want to make an account with them and get a permanent discount of 10% sign up with my code: 10142412

One last thing! I got a free gift with my two items! I'm not sure if they do this to everyone or to those who buy a promotional item or maybe it was just random.

a really cute fan as a bonus!
Its adorable just like my two items! I can't wait to use it once the summer really starts to hit!

Well that's it for today! Thanks for reading and if you have any questions leave a comment below and I'll try to answer back as soon as I can!

Tokyo Treat, April Box Review

Hello everyone! I'm back with another review! This time it's a subscription box called, Tokyo Treat! It's a subscription based box that delivers Japanese snacks and candies every month. They have three sizes that you can choose from: Small, Regular and Premium. The size I'm going to be reviewing today will be the Regular size. If you want to subscribe or want more information about Tokyo Treat, click here.

box that the snacks came in
So first I'll talk about the shipping. All three sizes have free shipping with is awesome because shipping from Japan can be very expensive. My box was shipped on April 5th and it arrived on April 15th. You don't get a tracking number but the site gives you an estimated time frame of when to expect your package. The box itself was open as you can tell by the seals on the box being torn in the picture above before I got it from the mail carrier but I suppose those who opened it were customs. Fortunately nothing was taken so I don't mind it as much.
When you open the box, the first thing you see is the list of everything that is included in whichever box you order.
List of goodies included in the box
Since I got the Regular box I get what's on the small and regular snacks. If you choose the Small box then you only get what's on the far left and if you buy the Premium box, you get everything. Simple, right?
snacks included in the April box (regular)
I'll be going in order from the small to the regular according to the list and at the end of each little review I will give a number from 1-10, 10 being the best and 1 being the worst.

So first on the list is The Japanese Dagashi Set (Cabbage Taro Chips and Tonkatsu flavored Umaibo)
They actually sent me two umaibo
Let's start with the Cabbage Taro, I was a bit skeptical because it's supposed to taste like cabbages. That's exactly how it smelled like when I opened the bag but surprise surprise, it wasn't that bad!
this is how they look like
They were very light and fluffy, it can be compared to the same texture of cheetos puffs. The taste was of cabbage but it wasn't overpowering like I had assumed.
I give Cabbage Taro an 8.

Next is Umaibo, Tonkatsu flavor. If you don't know what tonkatsu is, it's pretty much a pork cutlet battered in panko and deep fried.
I could smell a mix of ketchup and corn when I first opened the package. Just like the Cabbage Taro, it has a fluffy texture but this time its one big cylinder with a hollow center.

The umaibo was really good and I was glad I got two so I could share! Since it's so light and fluffy, it doesn't really fill you up but it is only a snack so I suppose it shouldn't.
I give the Tonkatsu Umaibo a 9.

Second on the list is Strawberry Hi Chew! (Japanese packaging)

different packaging from one sold in USA
So when I saw this was on the list, I instantly knew that I would love it. I think the Japanese packaging is more appealing than the one I've seen sold here in the USA. I think it looks more spring like? Maybe its just me, haha!  When I opened it, the scent of strawberry didn't instantly hit my nose but I believe that has to do with the individual wrapped candies. Once unwrapped I could smell the delicious strawberry flavor.

pink exterior, white filling: opposite of the one sold in USA
It tastes just like the strawberry hi chew you find here in the states. The texture is just like the others, chewy and a bit sticky. Definitely one of my favorites of this box!
I give it a 9!

Third is Puccho Gummy!

So this was another candy I loved from this box! One thing that did disappoint me was the packaging. On the list it says that it comes in a unique container similar to this one shown here. I don't know if it just happened to me or what, but I was looking forward to playing with it. Aside from that, the candy itself was great. It's texture is just like the hi chew I've talked about before except for it's unique center.

its difficult to see but there is white in the center; almost unnoticeable
It has this small little pocket in the center that holds a powder or something close to it. It begins to fizz and leaves your mouth with a refreshed feeling once it is all gone.
I give it an 8.5!

Fourth on the list is Pretz Salad Biscuits
These look like pocky sticks but without the sweet coating of either chocolate, strawberry, matcha, etc. I took a small taste of the biscuit stick and it was okay until I got the flavor of cheese in the end. I'm not a big fan of cheese so I didn't like them. I recommend them to anyone who likes cheese. It mostly tastes like garlic bread with a second taste of cheese.
I give these a 5.

Fifth on the list, Marching Koalas: Chocolate edition!

Aren't the koalas cute?!
The packaging has to be the cutest I've seen! and the cookies are even cuter!
As you can see, each cookie has a printed panda doing something different, for example eating cake, sleeping, drinking coffee, etc. The cookies were soft but not too soft and the chocolate was soft and smooth.

The chocolate itself didn't fill the whole cookie, instead it's only coated on one side but it was just enough to make the cookie taste delicious. It was really difficult to stop myself from eating all of the cookies in one bite! They were that delicious.
I give them a 9!

Sixth and final for the Small size is Super String Gummy.
126cm of gummy fun! (so I thought)
So its only a single piece of gummy that is to stretch out 126 cm according to the package. I would have measured it but the smell of grape did not let me. As soon as I opened the package it came it, the strong smell of grape hit me like a ton of bricks!
out of the package
I tried the dark purple side first, it had a strong artificial grape flavor. Then I tried the green side. This was not as strong as the purple side. I'm a fan of grape but this candy just wasn't for me. The smell itself cause me to get a headache and the taste was just not for me.
I give it a 6.
