Morinaga Hi-Chew Tropical Mix Review

Hello everyone! Today marks the first review I'll be doing on some stuff I have gotten online!

First up I'll be reviewing these!

These fruit chews I had originally won them on an online contest hosted by hi-chew

I didn't think I would win them because there were quite a few entries by the time I had seen the post on their instagram. I was lucky enough to be picked out of the 50 others so I was super excited about it when I got the e-mail! Since I didn't pay for the shipping or for the actual candies, I can't really say much about their customer service or shipping rates. What I can say is that after I got the email, they came in the mail in about two weeks from their California Warehouse. 

Like the bag says, it has mango, banana and melon flavored hi-chew!

As you can see, the banana and melon have about the same shade of color wrapper so when I was choosing them to review, I kept picking two of the same kind!

 

So the first one I decided to review is the mango one!

The smell of mango hit me as soon as I opened the wrapper, which was great for me! Not so much if you don't like mango or you're not a big fan...

The texture, just like any other hi-chew is soft and gummy. The taste is just like the smell, strong. Out of the three, this one had the most flavor. If you've ever had Vero Mango Lollipop (a mexican candy that was a big part of my childhood) it tastes just like that once you get through all of the chilli.

Melon hi-chew! The melon one had a more artificial smell than the mango but not as strong as the banana hi-chew. Surprisingly the melon did not taste as sweet as I thought it would because of the smell. It does taste like melon, but not as great.

Last but not least, banana hi-chew! This one was probably the most surprising of the two. Not in a bad way though. It smelled like artificial banana (kinda what a laffy taffy banana flavored candy tastes like). What was also surprising was the fact that it had a hint of cinnamon in both smell and taste. This was the weakest out of the three in taste. 

Banana and melon, like mango have a soft and chewy texture. All three are delicious though if I had to pick my favorite, I would have to pick the MANGO!!! (っ˘ڡ˘ς)
